Alumni Association Awards Program

The Heinz College Alumni Association Board (HCAAB) is pleased to announce the first annual Heinz College Alumni
Awards. We believe that it is important to recognize the outstanding contributions that our alumni make to their chosen
professions and in service to Heinz College.   Any alumni of Heinz College degree programs or their predecessor
programs are eligible for the awards.

Alumni Awards and Eligibility Requirements

Alumni may be nominated in any one of the following three categories:

Distinguished Alumni Award: This award is for alumni who have demonstrated consistent excellence in their careers at least 11 years or more after their date of graduation. Award recipients should have made significant contributions to their chosen profession, as well as furthering Heinz College's goals of improving the ability of public, not-for-profit and private organizations to address the most difficult challenges facing society.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award: This award is for alumni who have graduated within the last ten years. Alumni nominated in this category should demonstrate accomplishments in their chosen profession, as well as the potential for future excellence.

Alumni Meritorious Service Award: This award is for alumni who have contributed their time and talents in support of Heinz College and its mission. Alumni nominated in this category may have provided service to the school in any number of ways, including but not limited to, leadership in local alumni chapters, recruitment and career development efforts, and mentoring current students and fellow alumni.

Instructions for Nominations

In order to nominate an alumnus, please fill out the form below completely. The nomination should describe in detail the reasons that the nominee is deserving of the award. Specific examples are encouraged. In selecting recipients, the Board will focus primarily on the information contained within the nomination.

Nominees selected as finalists by the HCAAB will be contacted by Board members in the fall of 2011 to confirm their nomination information and request additional information as appropriate. The Board will select the final awardees, with the final number and type of award recipients dependent on the nominations received.

Recipients will receive their awards at the Summer 2012 Welcome Receptions for Interns and Recent Grads held with alumni throughout the country. Awardees will also be recognized at the 2012 Spring Carnival and Alumni Reunion Weekend in Pittsburgh.
