Student Representatives

Role of Heinz College Student Representatives

The role of a student rep is a critical component of effective communication between students and the administration. The reps' responsibilities include:

  • Soliciting student issues and bringing them to administrators
  • Participating in a monthly meeting with the Dean and other administrators, including discussing approaches
  • Disseminate information back to student constituents
  • Working with students and administrators to implement initiatives and activities

Role of Graduate Student Assembly Representatives

The role of a GSA rep is to communicate with their department, both by sending GSA emails out to students, but also in collecting feedback about Carnegie Mellon, life in Pittsburgh, and their general graduate student experience. It is with this feedback that the Assembly can help bring about change.
