Federal Financial Aid Process

The Heinz College is dedicated to providing financial information and resources needed to fund your education while attending graduate school. Preparing for graduate school requires planning in advance to acquire adequate funding. We recommend that applicants apply for federal financial aid soon after receiving their acceptance to the school. Applicants are encouraged to refer to this page as they begin the federal financial aid process.

We suggest completing your federal income tax return before filing your financial aid forms to avoid processing delays and to ensure timely disbursement of loans for the fall semester. Students need to be enrolled on at least a half time basis (18 units or more) as a regular degree-seeking student.

We encourage you to apply for financial aid as soon as possible, to be considered for all forms of federal financial aid available. Students, may submit their financial aid application materials for consideration at any time.
