Heinz College Scholarships and Fellowships for MSHCPM Students

A separate application is not necessary for consideration for the following Heinz College scholarships. MSHCPM students who indicate in the application for admission that they want to be considered for financial aid are automatically considered for any applicable scholarship opportunities.

Students who are eligible for more than one scholarship from Heinz College may not be entitled to the minimum award for the second scholarship.

 

Merit-Based Scholarships

MSHCPM Program Scholarships

These merit-based scholarships are awarded to exceptional students joining the HCPM program.

Dean's Health Care Fellowship

Approximately five fellowships are awarded annually to students committed to the health care field. Scholarship awards range from $6,000 to full tuition per semester. Recipients are also given preferential consideration for research assistantships with health care faculty.

Pittsburgh Regional Leaders Scholarships

Heinz College offers a limited number of Regional Leaders Scholarships to incoming full- and part-time students who have demonstrated a commitment to the Pittsburgh community. Applicants interested in the Regional Leaders Scholarships are required to have one of their three letters of recommendation written by someone who can testify to the applicant's commitment to and impact on the Pittsburgh community. 

 

Partnership-Based Scholarships

Heinz College Strategic Partners Scholarships

The Heinz College has partnered with the following organizations to provide financial support to their members in order to help reduce the cost of attending graduate school. Admitted students who are affiliated with one or more of the following organizations are eligible as a result of that affiliation(s)  (may be awarded as an MSHCPM Program Scholarship).

To be considered for a Strategic Partners Scholarship, applicants should indicate their experience/involvement with one or more of the following organizations on the Application for Admission. The Heinz College awards a scholarship of at least $6,000 per semester to eligible students enrolling on a full-time basis.  Students enrolling on a part-time basis will be reviewed on an individual basis. Please note that students who are eligible for more than one of our scholarships with a guaranteed minimum may not be entitled to the minimum award amount for the second scholarship.

Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship

Students who have successfully completed a PPIA junior summer institute and are admitted to the MSHCPM program are awarded a scholarship ranging from one-half tuition to full tuition and an annual stipend of $6,000 per year. See the PPIA program's web site for more information.

 

West Point Candidates Scholarships

Eligible students for this scholarship are limited to Active Duty Army Officers who attend graduate school and complete a follow up assignment as an instructor at West Point. Active duty officers admitted to the MSHCPM program are provided with a scholarship equal to 55% of the then-current tuition each semester. The remaining expenses (45% of tuition, all fees, textbooks and other required course materials, accommodation, meals, travel and other personal expenses) are the responsibility of the applicable West Point Candidate.

These officers, once approved to be nominated by West Point’s academic departments, need to also be approved by their assignment branch at the Army Human Resources Command (AHRC), as part of the Blue Book recruiting process. This scholarship is set up for future USMA instructors only and all assignments are determined by the USMA’s academic departments. Any interested candidates should contact:

 Regional and National Education Partners Scholarships

Regional Partners Alumni Scholarships

Incoming master's students who have completed their bachelor's degree at a regional education partner of the Heinz College are awarded an RPA scholarship. The Heinz College awards a scholarship of at least $6,000 per semester to eligible students enrolling on a full-time basis. Students who have graduated from Grove City College or Washington and Jefferson College prior to enrolling at Heinz College are eligible for this award (may be awarded as an MSHCPM Program Scholarship).

National Education Partners Alumni Scholarships

Incoming master's students who have completed their bachelor's degree at a regional education partner of the Heinz College are awarded an RPA scholarship. The Heinz College awards a scholarship of at least $6,000 per semester to eligible students enrolling on a full-time basis. Students who have graduated from Brigham Young University or the University of Nebraska at Lincoln prior to enrolling at Heinz College are eligible for this award (may be awarded as an MSHCPM Program Scholarship).


 

 General Heinz College Scholarship Information

Students who are eligible for more than one scholarship from Heinz College may not be entitled to the minimum award for the second scholarship. Typically, scholarships or scholarship percentages offered by Heinz College are renewable for subsequent semesters of enrollment however; any scholarship or fellowship offered may be reduced or rescinded for any of the following reasons:

 * Changing the academic program of study

 * A difference in the number of enrolled units originally used to calculate eligibility

 * Extending the normal program length

 * Deferment of offer of admission

 * Failure to make satisfactory academic progress

 * Financial aid overaward**

 **Total /scholarship/ from all sources generally may not exceed thecost of tuition and fees. Total /financial aid/ from all sources may not exceed the total cost of attendance.
