Shanna Dean

Before enrolling in Heinz College, Shanna Dean worked as unit director of Boys and Girls Club Northwest in her hometown of Rochester, Minnesota. She implemented youth development strategies using the skills she acquired from her experience as a volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps in Morocco.

Courtney Keene

Courtney attended Barnard College at Columbia University for her B.A. in Political Science. She worked on the development team of Echoing Green, an incubator for social entrepreneurs. Recently, she lived in Dakar, Senegal working as the on-site program coordinator for an international educational exchange program.

Melissa Osborne

Melissa Osborne worked in the fashion industry in Manhattan until she learned about Social Innovation; the blending of business acumen and social good. Social enterprise led her to Carnegie Mellon’s Heinz College where she became heavily involved with the Institute of Social Innovation and co-founded the Idea Lab.

Sandy St. Louis came to CMU from Boston where she worked for the PBS news and public affairs documentary series FRONTLINE at WGBH in Boston. As FRONTLINE’s outreach manager, she developed educational content for the series and implemented several national outreach campaigns.

Weiru founded a second-hand book service workshop and a public relations association in Shanghai that ranked as one of the most popular student clubs at Fudan University. As a social enterprise founder, NGO president and director of numerous projects, she strives to find innovative solutions to challenging problems.
