Search Assistance Funds

The Heinz College will provide each Master’s student monetary assistance for reasonable costs of travel associated with job/apprenticeship interviews where the employer is unable to provide support.

In order to access the fund, it is required that you first inquire with the interviewing organization whether they have funds available to assist you with interview-related travel expenses.

Efforts should be made to use on-line discount rates for hotel and airfare whenever possible. The fund will pay for the cost of airfare, ground transportation to/in destination cities, overnight accommodations, 20 cents/mile reimbursement for gas for inter-city auto travel, (if using your own vehicle), tolls, and rental car fees. It will NOT include any costs for meals, clothing, automobile depreciation, mileage and insurance for a rental car, flight cancellation penalties, or other costs not essential to participating in an interview.

To be reimbursed receipts must be submiited no later than 21 days after the completion of travel, no exceptions!
