Two Heinz College Alums Honored for Impact on the Pittsburgh Region
Release Date: Sep 09, 2009
Heinz College alumni Luke Skurman (MSPPM '04) and Natalia Rudiak (MSPPM '06) were recently named to this year's '40 Under 40' list, which recognizes 40 talented individuals under the age of 40 who are making a positive impact on the region’s development.
Selected from a nomination pool of nearly 300 candidates, this year’s honorees were chosen by an independent panel of twelve judges, comprised of former winners, business professionals and civic leaders. Winners were chosen based on their passion, commitment, visibility, diversity and overall impact on the region.
Skurman is the founder of CollegeProwler.com, an online higher education resource guide, and Rudiak was a recent winner of the Democratic primary for Pittsburgh's 4th District City Council election. (Watch a video of Rudiak talking about her Heinz College experience.)
The 40 winners will be guests of honor at a celebration on Friday, November 6 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the August Wilson Center. The event, sponsored by Carlow University and First National Bank, includes a tribute to this year’s “40 Under 40” honorees, music, entertainment, and food and drink from local restaurants. The winners will also be featured in the November issue of PITTSBURGH MAGAZINE.
