Laura Lee’s Adelaide residency has come to its official end but far from moving on, the dynamic designer is still passionate about the potential for creating a “people focused” city. The secret, she says, lies in integrated strategy. She spoke to Amanda Ward.

Laura Lee has had a big day. World-renowned Danish architect Jan Gehl was in town for 24 hours and they started early with a briefing at the City Council, followed by a meeting with Minister Holloway then a stroll through the CBD and Victoria Square to reacquaint themselves with the challenges at hand.  The afternoon was devoted to workshopping with a long list of Council, State Government and professional representatives. Both Lee and Gehl then made  formal presentations to the Lord Mayor and Council. Despite all this, Lee is still fresh-faced and full of enthusiasm for the work that lies ahead.
