"Being a successful arts manager is about finding balance. The nexus of art and business can be a very fine point and without proper balance it is easy to fall in one direction or the other. Years later, after working in the field, I am most grateful for the training I received from IMCE and the MAM program.
The program at Carnegie Mellon's Heinz College helped make me aware of, and embrace, the delicate balance between art and business and the forces that can pull you in either direction. The tools I use everyday in managing a theater company, continually working to find and maintain that balance, can all be attributed to the courses, faculty, and classmates I encountered during my time in Pittsburgh."
