MSHCPM Mission Statement
The mission of the Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Management program is to improve the nation’s healthcare system through programmatic excellence in education, research and community service.
Students in the MSHCPM should be able to:
- Describe the complex health care field, including policy, access, delivery, financing, quality, and the role of the public and private sectors;
- Examine the theoretical foundations of health care policy and professional management;
- Apply knowledge, skills, and abilities required for immediate employment and keep pace with the changes in the health services sector;
- Conduct disciplinary and multidisciplinary studies that meet the highest intellectual and academic standards
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in hands-on practicum experiences; and
- Function effectively in diverse groups and operate in an increasingly connected world.
