Graduate Student Conference Funding is provided by the Graduate Student Assembly and the Provost's Office, and is managed by the Office of the Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate Education. The goal of the funding is to enable more Carnegie Mellon graduate students to make presentations at key conferences/ exhibitions in their fields or attend conferences and learn about the broader field of study to which they belong.
This award amount is $500 per student with a maximum amount of $1,000 per group. Awardees are selected through a lottery process on a quarterly basis. It is considered a partial source of support. Graduate students may not receive more than one conference award per academic year from this fund. Funds are disbursed through a reimbursement after the conference.

The Heinz College has a limited pool of funds to support students’ participation in professional conferences. Students are strongly encouraged to simultaneously submit a conference request to the G.S.A Graduate Conference Fund and the Heinz College Conference Fund. Students are eligible to receive up to $500 per academic year depending on the availability of funds, strength of application, and the role the student will play at the conference. Funding will be announced within 5 days after the submission deadline. Funds are disbursed through a reimbursement after the conference.

GuSH Research Funding is provided by the Graduate Student Assembly and the Provost's Office, and is managed by the Office of the Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate Education. GuSH funding is intended to help graduate students reach their full potential through the graduate work they do at Carnegie Mellon. These awards, for $750 each, are to be used against costs incurred in the completion of research required for a graduate degree at Carnegie Mellon. These funds are intended to be utilized by students whose personal or departmental resources have been exhausted.
