INFOcon 2024 is a free, multi-day, online conference for those interested in, studying in, or researching in the field of information science. The conference will consist of presentations from faculty from across the iSchools Collaborative Network on emerging topics in the field.
We invite you to register for presentations that align with your interest, including Distinguished Services Professor of Applied Data Science and AI, Anand Rao, who will present "Operationalizing AI: From Strategy to Scalable Solutions"
Professor Rao's presentation will highlight how despite rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), many projects struggle to transition from development to deployment, with a large percentage failing to make it into production. This session will guide current professionals and aspiring AI engineers, AI strategy consultants, and AI governance experts through the critical stages of operationalizing AI, from scoping high-impact use cases to scaling AI systems that deliver business value. Panelists will dive deep into the AI lifecycle, discussing practical strategies to prioritize AI initiatives, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and design roadmaps for deployment.
The session will also focus on overcoming the most common challenges in AI projects, including model drift, governance, and stakeholder buy-in. We will explore the ethical and governance frameworks necessary to build trustworthy, scalable AI systems, while highlighting real-world tools that are critical for successful AI deployment. This session is ideal for professionals and students looking to break into the AI space or enhance their expertise in managing AI systems. Attendees will gain valuable insights on how to navigate the complexities of AI deployment and governance, equipping them to lead AI-driven projects and innovation across industries.
