My research interests lie at the intersection between public policy and machine learning. I have helped deploy and evaluate the theoretical capacities and practical use of algorithmic tools in policy areas such as workforce development, education, and housing in real-world settings with stakeholders.
Currently, my interests and work-in-progress include 1) critically examine the social and economic impact of algorithms from equity and welfare perspectives 2) design useful tools and frameworks for policymakers to assess the use of algorithms considering fairness implications and risks 3) improve human-AI joint decision-making in presence of strategic behaviors from users.
