The world needs professionals who can shape it
We interact with artificial intelligence in everyday lives, from the shows we watch to the cars we drive to stocks we buy. The real value of AI comes when it is deployed at scale and in service of the most complex problems of our time.
That's where you come in.
Carnegie Mellon University is the #1 school in the U.S. for artificial intelligence education, and the new Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Systems Management (AIM) program, housed in CMU's Heinz College, will teach you to put AI to work. Feedback from our business partners indicates that society needs leaders trained to implement AI in support of consequential, decision-making tasks—and to do so safely and equitably. Heinz College has the blend of faculty, coursework, and history of interdisciplinary instruction to attract and educate these future leaders, a blend no other institution can offer.
In this 12-month, three-semester program, Heinz College's robust industry partnerships lead to hands-on learning opportunities that allow you to apply your coursework to a real-world problem and gain an advantage in the job market. We are also home to two research centers, the Block Center for Technology and Society and the PwC Digital Transformation and Innovation Center, that connect students with external organizations for hands-on projects and internships.
Carnegie Mellon has led AI innovation since its invention. There is no better place to learn how to deploy it.
During your time in Heinz College's AI Masters' program, you can expect to work with real-world clients and solve problems like these:
I think the number one thing that I personally appreciate about Heinz and CMU is the fact that they are so quick with refreshing their syllabi. As soon as generative AI came out, the next semester, Heinz had classes on Gen AI, LLMs and AI operations, which was insane because it was pretty new. For me, one key factor was getting that early advantage in learning about these technologies of the future from great faculty. These faculty have years of experience in the field and it’s been great to learn firsthand from people who are so passionate about what they do.Atharva Joshi | Heinz '23, Project Manager - AI & Data Analytics at L'Oreal
