Is MEIM Right For Me?
The Master of Entertainment Industry Management (MEIM) program is a joint degree offered by Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and College of Fine Arts.
An industry-centered professional degree that stands apart from all others, MEIM provides greater quantitative management and strategic skills than a film school, and more entertainment-relevant coursework and experiences than a business school. Quickly emerging as the premier training program for entertainment professionals in the U.S. and globally, MEIM empowers students to go beyond the classroom and make connections in the film, TV, gaming, and music industries with an immersive second year in Los Angeles, as well as networking events and visits to film festivals.
Our students come from all backgrounds—some have a previous connection to the entertainment industry, while many others come from more general humanities and business backgrounds. What they share is a passion for entertainment media and a desire to have an impact on this always compelling, creative, and influential sector.
Experiential learning is a cornerstone of all Heinz College programs, and nowhere is that more evident than the MEIM program. As a MEIM student, you will have constant exposure to practitioners through networking opportunities, projects, and special events, and you will graduate with over 1000 hours of real-world industry experience, giving you a distinct competitive edge in a field where relationships are everything. MEIM graduates go on to careers with major studios and networks, production companies, talent agencies, record labels, marketing companies, game developers, and media firms.
