Is an Entertainment Industry Management Master's Degree Right For Me?

The Master of Entertainment Industry Management program is a joint degree offered by Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and College of Fine Arts.

A Heinz College entertainment industry management master's degree student interning at the Cannes Film Festival.

Heinz College's Master of Entertainment Industry Management degree provides greater quantitative management and strategic skills than a film school, and more entertainment-relevant coursework and experiences than a business school.

In their first year in the program, on our Pittsburgh campus, students are grounded in the business and management aspects of entertainment: financial analysis, economics, production finance, etc. After a summer internship, students head to Los Angeles for the program's second year, where they can augment core courses in film economics, production management, and television marketing with electives such as the Business of Gaming, Film Acquisitions, and Music Monetization and Song Royalties.

The result is a graduate with the business skills to lead and the creativity to innovate.
